Company / Role Overview

This opportunity sits within the technology division of a global financial institution supporting systems used by the wealth and asset management business across the APAC region. The role focuses on designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining components of a core portfolio management platform used in private banking environments. The successful candidate will contribute to system enhancements, version upgrades, and integration initiatives while also supporting production environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position requires hands-on engineering work alongside technical design responsibilities, ensuring reliable delivery of solutions across multiple technology layers and integration channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with technology teams, business stakeholders, and integration partners to deliver and enhance applications supporting wealth management platforms.
• Produce technical documentation and architecture designs to guide development activities across the engineering team.
• Develop and maintain core system components such as configuration objects, application parameters, screen definitions, and metadata structures within the platform.
• Build and maintain reporting solutions using enterprise reporting tools and leverage modern features to improve modularity and maintainability.
• Design and implement integration interfaces and services for inbound and outbound data exchanges with other enterprise systems.
• Develop and support batch processes, scheduling routines, reconciliation processes, and data transformation logic required for platform operations.
• Implement and maintain integration mechanisms using technologies such as APIs, messaging platforms, and file-based exchanges.
• Support system upgrades and migration initiatives, including adoption of newer platform versions and enhancements to existing frameworks.
• Conduct testing and validation of solutions delivered by internal teams or vendors, ensuring alignment with functional and technical requirements.
• Contribute to production support activities, documentation, quality controls, and continuous integration / deployment processes within the development lifecycle.

Job Requirements

Must-have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience (around 10 years) in IT development within financial services, ideally supporting private banking or asset management environments.
• Strong hands-on experience developing and configuring enterprise wealth management platforms and associated scripting frameworks.
• Proven experience building integrations using specialized interface frameworks and APIs within financial systems.
• Solid knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Experience working in Unix-based environments, including shell scripting.
• Demonstrated experience in system testing, quality assurance processes, and supporting production systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with enterprise reporting tools used in financial platforms.
• Familiarity with securities products such as equities, bonds, derivatives, structured products, FX, and portfolio management workflows.
• Exposure to payment processing, cash management, pricing, credit, or tax systems within financial services environments.
• Knowledge of development process methodologies, CI/CD practices, and structured project delivery frameworks.
• Prior experience supporting technology platforms used in wealth management organizations.
• Professional certifications related to finance, project management, or business analysis.
• Additional language capabilities beyond English.
