Our client in the financial services industry is seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Vice President – Scrum Master for a 6 months contract to join their Life Product Implementation Team. This role offers the opportunity to lead agile product delivery and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of insurance product launches and enhancements in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of life insurance products and investment-linked funds, ensuring governance, compliance, scope, resources, timeline, and budget are effectively managed.
- Break down complex product features into epics and user stories; prioritise the backlog and ensure clarity and alignment with business objectives.
- Own and maintain a visible team backlog, ensuring all stories meet definitions of “ready” and “done.”
- Ensure each item complies with:
- Regulatory and governance standards
- Operational risk requirements
- Non-functional and technical specifications
- Market readiness and business adoption criteria
- Own the delivery outcomes of the agile team, accept completed work, and ensure continuous value delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the main point of contact between the agile team and stakeholders, representing outcomes and updates to internal leadership.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams such as service delivery, vendors, and compliance as needed.
- Ensure delivery activities align with approved budgets and corporate procedures.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional agile teams including delivery leads, engineers, and analysts to deliver product backlogs.
- Act as an escalation point for blockers or delivery issues; implement mitigation plans where necessary.
- Foster a culture of agile excellence, collaboration, and ownership across the team.
Requirements:
- Positive attitude and strong collaboration skills.
- At least 6 years of experience managing full product lifecycle delivery.
- Background in the life insurance industry is a strong advantage.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, including C-suite (CPO, CFO, COO, CDO), and manage complex delivery timelines.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Demonstrated success working in dynamic environments and driving cross-functional outcomes.
