Company / Role Overview
This role is part of a multi-year finance transformation initiative within a global financial services organisation, focused on establishing a consistent and trusted investment data foundation. The Investment Data Business Analyst will work within a dedicated transformation team to analyse existing data processes, define future-state requirements, and support the delivery of a new investment data solution through detailed analysis, documentation, and testing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse current-state investment data processes to identify gaps, dependencies, and change impacts for the future-state solution.
- Review and assess source data from external administrators and internal systems to support data simplification and standardisation.
- Gather, validate, and prepare reference data required for the configuration of a strategic data management service.
- Produce detailed user stories, functional specifications, and process documentation to support solution design and build activities.
- Partner closely with technology teams during development cycles to clarify requirements and review deliverables.
- Support testing phases by preparing functional test cases, validating outcomes, and assisting with defect analysis and resolution.
- Support business users during UAT and transition phases through issue analysis, training, and readiness activities.
Job Requirements
Must Have
- Solid understanding of investment management concepts within an insurance or asset management context.
- 6–8 years’ experience in a business analysis role within financial services or large-scale transformation programmes.
- Strong experience analysing complex data flows, data structures, and integration points.
- Proven ability to produce clear and detailed functional specifications and user stories.
- Hands-on experience supporting system testing, UAT, and business readiness activities.
Others
- Exposure to investment data platforms, fund administration data, or data management vendors.
- Experience working in multi-vendor or multi-stakeholder transformation environments.
- Familiarity with governance, data quality, or control frameworks.
