We’re partnering with a leading global financial institution seeking a Data Governance Executive
to join their expanding data management and governance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a data professional passionate about driving data quality, compliance, and governance excellence across enterprise systems.
The Role
As a Data Governance Executive, you will play a key role in supporting the firm’s enterprise data strategy. You’ll be responsible for maintaining data standards, resolving quality issues, coordinating remediation activities, and ensuring that governance frameworks and controls are consistently applied.
Working closely with cross-functional teams across business and technology, you’ll contribute to improving data transparency, compliance, and operational efficiency through the implementation of robust governance processes and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the firm’s data governance framework
and ensure adherence to data quality standards.
- Manage data quality metrics, KPIs, and dashboards
to monitor compliance with governance policies.
- Maintain data lineage documentation
and ensure data flows are well understood across the organisation.
- Develop and maintain a data glossary
to promote consistent use of business terminology.
- Utilise Microsoft Purview
to catalogue data assets and enforce governance standards.
- Conduct regular data quality assessments
and drive remediation initiatives.
- Prepare and present governance reports
for management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and recommend improvements aligned with firm-wide objectives.
- Gain deep understanding of the end-to-end data lifecycle
to identify dependencies supporting delivery, release, and change management.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience
in data governance, data management, or data quality(pure data analytics experience not suitable).
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, controls, and quality management processes.
- Proficiency in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
- Experience with data cataloguing tools(e.g., Microsoft Purview) an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across business and technical teams.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a structured environment.
