Full-Stack Python Software Engineer (with Data Engineering Focus)/12 months contract/55-75K HKD P/M

Client Profile:

Our client stands as a distinguished, partner-owned transformation consultancy with a strategic footprint across Europe and Asia. Operating at the intersection of deep engineering expertise and business innovation, they guide global clients through complex digital evolution. Specializing in highly regulated sectors like financial services and healthcare, they deliver integrated strategy, technology, and operational solutions that build resilience and competitive advantage for the future.

The Role:

We are seeking a versatile Full-Stack Software Engineer who brings substantial data engineering acumen to their core development skills. In this role, you will integrate into high-performing, multidisciplinary teams dedicated to solving clients' most pressing challenges through technology. You will have the opportunity to engage across the entire development lifecycle, from initial concept through to deployment, within a culture that prizes technical excellence, collaborative problem-solving, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within Agile teams to design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack software and data-driven solutions that directly address client requirements.
  • Architect, build, and maintain efficient, scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
  • Develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces for modern web applications.
  • Design, implement, and optimize database schemas and queries for both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) systems.
  • Build, containerize, and orchestrate services using Docker and Kubernetes within cloud-native environments.
  • Implement robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and automated software delivery.
  • Apply strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues and devise effective solutions.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, architectural discussions, and the sharing of knowledge to foster team growth.
  • (For Senior Applicants) Assume technical leadership responsibilities, guide engineering best practices, and mentor less experienced colleagues.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Professional 6-10 years experience in full-stack software development, with significant backend and data engineering proficiency in Python.
  • Demonstrated skill in frontend development using React/Next.js alongside core web technologies (HTML, CSS).
  • Practical experience developing REST APIs and working with PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD).
  • A solid grasp of microservices architecture and principles for building cloud-native applications.
  • Proven ability working within cloud platforms, with a preference for Azure experience.
  • Curiosity or experience in AI-assisted development and the integration of AI/ML models into software systems.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in software design patterns, data structures, and development best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A self-motivated, outcomes-oriented mindset with a commitment to professional and process improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly as part of a globally distributed team.

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Utilization of observability and monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry.
  • Domain knowledge within Financial Services (Investment, Banking, Wealth/Asset Management).
  • Awareness of regional compliance standards and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
