An established and growing insurance platform in Asia is seeking an experienced compliance professional to lead and manage the compliance function for one of its regional business units. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for regulatory compliance, governance, and risk oversight across Hong Kong, with exposure to regional operations.
This position suits a seasoned compliance professional who can operate both strategically and hands-on, partnering with senior management and business teams to maintain a strong compliance culture and framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior management and business teams to provide compliance advisory support across the organisation and its subsidiaries
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework and monitoring programme
- Develop and update internal policies and guidelines to meet regulatory requirements and strengthen internal controls
- Prepare regular compliance reports for senior management and relevant regulatory authorities
- Ensure the compliance framework is properly implemented, monitored, and updated in line with regulatory changes
- Provide practical compliance guidance to business stakeholders on regulatory and governance matters
- Oversee third-party onboarding processes, including due diligence and risk assessments
- Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the business remains compliant with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements
- Support the implementation of regulatory requirements and industry guidelines
Requirements
- Degree qualified; professional compliance qualifications are an advantage
- Minimum 15 years of compliance experience within the insurance industry
- At least 6 years of leadership or team management experience within a compliance function
- Strong knowledge of Hong Kong insurance regulations and regulatory frameworks; exposure to Macau regulations would be beneficial
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to work independently
- Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)
