Head of Procurement (Telecommunication)

The Head of Procurement will be a strategic leader responsible for setting the overall procurement strategy and ensuring its alignment with the company's ambitious business objectives and growth plans. This role requires a proven professional who can drive strategic sourcing, contract management, and vendor performance management across all procurement categories, with a particular focus on the unique demands of both a large-scale telecommunication network and advanced data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team, advising on procurement trends, supply chain dynamics, and opportunities for cost optimization and innovation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and ethical conduct.
- Oversee strategic sourcing initiatives across all major categories, including:
- Construction & Infrastructure:
Fiber networks, site build-out, tower construction, and data center build-outs (e.g., cooling, power infrastructure).
- IT Equipment & Technology:
Network gear (RAN, Core, Transport), servers, storage, cloud services, and software licensing relevant to both telecom and data center operations.
- Facility Operations:
Utilities, maintenance, security, and facility management services for corporate offices, network sites, and data centers.
- Professional Services:
Consulting, legal, HR, and other corporate services.
- Drive continuous improvement in total cost of ownership (TCO), quality, and service levels.
- Establish and enforce robust contract management processes to ensure compliance, mitigate legal risk, and realize negotiated value.
- Manage supplier risk (financial, operational, and ethical) for a complex, global supply chain.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Background
- Mandatory:
Significant, demonstrable leadership experience
in a senior procurement role within the telecommunications and data center industry.
- Direct, hands-on experience managing procurement for telecommunications and infrastructure (e.g., power, cooling, compute, storage).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is a plus.
- Good command both Thai and English
