ICT Solutions Architect (6-Month Contract) – Mining & Commodities

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to join on a 6-month contract based in Singapore. This role is critical in translating complex business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure ICT solution architectures that align with strategic digital goals.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and technical experts to ensure the successful delivery of IT/OT projects, particularly in the mining and commodity trading domains.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate business and technical requirements into end-to-end solution architectures aligned with organizational goals and Digital Strategy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and clients to gather and understand business objectives and constraints.
• Design conceptual and logical architecture diagrams detailing infrastructure, data flow, system integration, and security layers.
• Develop high-level cost models to support mine network planning and other study streams.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and tools that align with project needs.
• Build proof-of-concept and prototype solutions to validate architectural approaches.
• Ensure proposed solutions integrate effectively with existing systems and adhere to best practices in security and compliance (e.g., ISO27001, NIST).
• Mitigate risks through thoughtful architectural decisions and support project planning through dependency and cost analysis.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers.
• Document architecture designs, decisions, and technical guidelines for implementation and governance.

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related fields.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in solution architecture.
• Proven experience in commodity trading systems and delivering solutions in the mining industry.
• Hands-on experience with industrial networks (preferably Cisco-based).
• Strong track record designing and implementing enterprise-grade IT/OT solutions.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong capability in designing architecture diagrams showcasing integration of infrastructure, security, networking, and data flows.
• Deep understanding of solution risk mitigation strategies, performance tuning, and scalability.
• Strong grasp of security and compliance standards such as ISO27001 and NIST.
• Ability to ensure interoperability and seamless integration with legacy and modern systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and documentation capabilities.
