Company / Role Overview

This position offers an opportunity to join a high-performing regional IT operations team responsible for securing and maintaining critical middleware infrastructure across multiple APAC locations. The Middleware Vulnerability Consultant will play a central role in managing security compliance, patching, and remediation across a range of middleware platforms, ensuring stability, scalability, and resilience of enterprise systems. The role requires both strong technical depth and hands-on execution ability, working closely with global and regional IT teams to uphold security standards and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee middleware vulnerability and compliance management for regional infrastructure, ensuring timely remediation and minimal risk exposure.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, plan and implement security patches, and perform post-remediation validation across supported platforms.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash) to streamline patching, configuration, and reporting processes.
  • Create and maintain management dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or Excel, highlighting key KPIs such as remediation timelines and compliance levels.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to define realistic remediation plans and ensure adherence to governance and change control frameworks.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, monitoring, and compliance posture across all middleware environments.

Job Requirements

  • 10–15 years of hands-on experience in middleware administration, covering platforms such as IBM WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss EAP/EWS, Apache, Tomcat, and IBM MQ.
  • Strong knowledge of vulnerability management principles, including CVE scoring and compliance assessment methodologies.
  • Proven experience in scripting and automation for large-scale middleware patching or deployment (e.g., Ansible, Python, PowerShell).
  • Proficiency in developing analytics dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools; advanced Excel and SQL skills preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities, with the capability to translate complex issues into actionable solutions.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, Agile or DevOps practices, and willingness to perform occasional after-hours or weekend support when required.
