Senior Compliance Manager – Life Insurance / $70k P/M

A growing life insurance business in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to lead its compliance function and serve as a key regulatory contact for the organisation. This role offers broad exposure across compliance advisory, regulatory engagement, governance, and compliance framework management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the compliance function and act as a trusted advisor to senior management on regulatory and compliance matters.
• Develop, implement, and enhance the compliance framework, policies, controls, and governance processes across the business.
• Serve as a primary point of contact with the Hong Kong Insurance Authority (IA) and manage regulatory communications, reporting, inspections, and enquiries.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure ongoing compliance with the Insurance Ordinance, IA guidelines, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Provide compliance guidance to business stakeholders, supporting new initiatives, products, distribution channels, and strategic projects.
• Oversee third-party due diligence, compliance monitoring activities, and regulatory risk assessments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of compliance experience within the insurance industry, with significant exposure to the life insurance sector.
• Proven experience engaging directly with the Insurance Authority (IA) and managing regulatory relationships in Hong Kong.
• Strong understanding of Hong Kong insurance regulations, governance frameworks, and compliance best practices.
• Previous experience leading or managing a compliance team.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and business leaders.
• Professional compliance qualifications would be advantageous.
• Fluent English and Chinese language skills preferred.
