Strategic Procurement Manager - Food Ingredients (1-Year Contract)

The Strategic Procurement Manager - Food Ingredients will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of a specific portfolio of direct raw materials, with a particular focus on food ingredients. This is a hands-on strategic role where you will be expected to develop and effectively implement sourcing strategies that secure supply, optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), manage risk, and drive innovation within your assigned categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for assigned food ingredient categories, ensuring alignment with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing requirements.
- Conduct rigorous market analysis, cost modeling, and supplier segmentation to identify leverage opportunities and manage supply volatility within the food ingredient space.
- Lead all phases of the strategic sourcing process, including needs assessment, Request for Proposal (RFP) execution, negotiation, contract finalization, and post-award implementation.
- Actively track and report on cost savings, risk mitigation, and other key procurement metrics within the category.
- Negotiate and manage complex supply agreements and contracts to ensure favorable pricing, reliable supply, quality specifications, and adherence to legal and commercial terms.
- Partner closely with the R&D, QA team to identify and source new ingredients for product innovation and reformulation projects.
- Proactively identify and manage supply chain risks specific to the food ingredient sector (e.g., commodity price volatility, geopolitical factors, crop failures, regulatory changes).
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in Strategic Procurement or Sourcing, with a demonstrated focus on direct raw materials, specifically food ingredients, within the Food & Beverage industry.
- Proven track record of developing and successfully implementing complex sourcing strategies.
- Strong experience leading contract negotiations with global suppliers.
- Excellent capability in cost modeling, data analysis, and using procurement technology.
- Good command both Thai and English
