Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Finance Manager will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day financial operations of the company. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making.
1. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
2. Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliation of accounts, preparation of adjusting entries, and analysis.
3. Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing valuable insights to aid in decision-making.
4. Support the preparation and implementation of internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. 5. Coordinate and assist with the annual external audit process, ensuring all required documents and information are provided accurately and timely.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, inventory, and sales, to ensure accurate financial reporting and proper recording of financial transactions related to inventory, sales, and expenses.
7. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing guidance and support to department managers during the process.
8. Monitor and analyze variances between actual financial results and budgeted/forecasted amounts, identifying areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions.
9. Assist in evaluating and implementing efficient accounting systems and processes to improve accuracy and productivity, while ensuring compliance.
10. Provide guidance and support to the accounting staff, promoting professional development and fostering a collaborative team environment.
11. Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and guidelines, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary changes as required.
12. Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis, special projects, and presentations as requested by the Accounting Manager or senior leadership team.
