Business Analyst – Investment Data & Analytics

We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation to hire an experienced Business Analyst to support data, analytics and reporting initiatives within its Asset Management business.

This is a hands-on role sitting at the intersection of business, investments, data and technology. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers and architects to translate business requirements into effective data and reporting solutions.

What you'll be doing

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, challenges and opportunities across investment and operational processes.
• Gather, document and translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows and data/reporting requirements.
• Work closely with Data Architects and Data Engineers on data design, integration and scalable reporting solutions.
• Support data modelling, mapping, business rules and data lineage activities.
• Develop and recommend reporting and visualisation solutions
• Analyse complex datasets using to support business and reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Support UAT, defect triage and business sign-off for new solutions and enhancements.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar business/data-facing role.
• Experience in the asset management space
• Strong hands-on SQL skills with the ability to analyse complex datasets.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard design and data visualisation.
• Good understanding of modern data platforms, as well as data models, architecture and integration concepts.
• Strong requirements gathering and documentation capabilities
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
