Full Stack Engineer – Python & Java / FS / $100k P/M / 12 month extendable

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a major financial services organisation in Hong Kong. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-impact applications and platforms within a complex enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will have particularly strong experience across Python and Java development, combined with modern frontend technologies and a solid understanding of scalable software architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement full stack applications that automate and streamline business processes.
• Build and maintain backend systems primarily using Python and Java, with a focus on scalable, high-performance solutions.
• Develop modern frontend applications using React, Next.js and JavaScript.
• Design and implement core backend services and APIs used by multiple applications.
• Apply software architecture patterns including microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Work closely with technology and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and quickly identify appropriate solutions.
• Contribute to coding standards, development best practices and high-quality software delivery.
• Collaborate across multiple teams and locations within a large enterprise environment.

Requirements

• Strong commercial development experience using Python.
• Strong development experience using Java, particularly for backend services and enterprise applications.
• Good full stack development experience across backend and frontend technologies.
• Experience with React, Next.js and JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Good understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
• Experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with additional languages such as C++, Go or Rust.
• Exposure to data science, machine learning or statistical modelling.
• Experience with Dash or similar UI frameworks.
• Previous experience within banking, financial services or another large-scale enterprise environment.

This role would suit a strong software engineer who enjoys working across the full technology stack while maintaining particular depth in Python and Java backend engineering.
