Experience: 2–10+ years, depending on relevant agentic AI, ML or application engineering experience

The opportunity

We are partnered with a global life insurer to build out its regional AI Centre of Excellence, supporting AI-led transformation across its Asian businesses. The Centre brings together technical and business specialists to develop AI capabilities that can be applied across markets, functions and customer journeys.

As an Agentic AI Engineer, you will work at the forefront of workflow-oriented AI, developing agents that interact with enterprise tools and execute controlled, multi-step business processes. You will help translate emerging agentic approaches into practical capabilities with the reliability, transparency and human oversight required in a complex insurance environment.

What you will do

• Design agent orchestration and reusable runtime components for business workflows.
• Connect agents with approved tools, APIs and enterprise services.
• Implement grounding, state and memory-management patterns.
• Establish permissions, human approval points and clear execution boundaries.
• Develop exception handling, recovery and fallback mechanisms.
• Build execution tracing and observability, working with evaluation engineers and business specialists to validate agent behaviour.

What you will bring

• Strong software engineering and AI engineering capability.
• Hands-on experience building workflow-oriented agents.
• Experience integrating AI services with tools and APIs.
• Practical understanding of production controls, observability and exception handling.
• Ability to turn evolving technical approaches into maintainable business solutions.

Preferred: Knowledge of insurance processes and experience or certification in delivery on AWS and a major Chinese cloud platform.
