SAP S/4HANA Sales & Distribution (SD) Functional Consultant
Location: East
The Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Sales & Distribution (SD) Functional Consultant to support, enhance, and optimize our SAP environment within an end-user organization. The successful candidate will serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT, ensuring SAP SD solutions effectively support Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes, sales operations, customer service, logistics execution, pricing, and billing activities.
This role involves business process analysis, solution design, system configuration, user support, testing, and participation in SAP enhancement and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Process Support
- Provide functional support for SAP S/4HANA SD processes and related business operations.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to understand business requirements.
- Analyze business issues and recommend SAP-based solutions and process improvements.
- Manage and resolve production support incidents, service requests, and system issues within agreed service levels.
SAP Configuration & Solution Design
- Configure and maintain SAP SD functionalities, including:
- Customer Master Data
- Sales Order Processing
- Pricing and Condition Technique
- Delivery and Shipping Processes
- Billing and Invoicing
- Credit Management
- Returns Management
- Output Management
- Intercompany Sales
- Conduct impact assessments for enhancements and change requests.
- Prepare functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams on custom developments and integrations.
Project & Change Management
- Participate in SAP implementation, enhancement, rollout, and upgrade projects.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Facilitate fit-gap analysis and solution design workshops.
- Support testing activities including Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT.
- Coordinate deployment activities and provide post-go-live support.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Collaborate with teams supporting:
- SAP MM (Materials Management)
- SAP PP (Production Planning)
- SAP EWM/WM (Warehouse Management)
- SAP FI/CO (Finance & Controlling)
- SAP TM (Transportation Management)
- Third-party systems and interfaces
- Ensure seamless end-to-end Order-to-Cash process integration across modules.
User Training & Continuous Improvement
- Develop user documentation, process flows, and training materials.
- Conduct end-user training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes through SAP best practices and automation.
- Support SAP S/4HANA transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP SD functional consulting experience.
- Proven experience supporting SAP S/4HANA environments in an end-user organization.
- Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) business processes.
- Experience participating in full project lifecycle implementations and application support.
Technical Expertise
- Strong SAP S/4HANA SD configuration experience.
- Expertise in:
- Sales Order Management
- Pricing Procedures and Condition Technique
- Delivery and Shipping Processes
- Billing and Invoicing
- Customer Master Data Management
- Credit Management
- Output Management
- ATP (Available-to-Promise)
- Intercompany Processes
- Experience with SAP Fiori applications.
- Knowledge of EDI and SAP integration frameworks.
- Understanding of SAP SD integration with MM, PP, FI/CO, and EWM modules.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Sales.
- Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Exposure to SAP Activate methodology.
- Experience supporting regional or multinational business operations.
