Senior Backend Engineer (NodeJS, GO)- - 3k$- CONTRACT

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with 6–10 years of hands-on experience building, designing, and scaling backend systems.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong backend fundamentals who wants to take on greater technical ownership and grow towards a Tech Lead or Solution Architect role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js (NestJS) and Go (Golang).

• Apply SOLID principles, clean code practices, design patterns, and modern software architecture.

• Build and optimise microservices, including service-to-service communication and API design.

• Contribute to architecture decisions to improve system scalability, maintainability, security, and performance.

• Develop secure authentication and authorisation solutions, including RBAC, OAuth2, and JWT.

• Design and implement workflow engines and orchestration logic for complex business processes.

• Design and optimise PostgreSQL schemas, complex queries, and database performance.

• Implement backend infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Work with AWS services to deploy, manage, and scale backend applications.

• Improve system reliability through monitoring, logging, observability, and distributed-system best practices.

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous engineering improvements.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of hands-on backend engineering experience.

• Strong proficiency in Node.js (NestJS) and Go (Golang).

• Solid experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and API design.

• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.

• Practical experience with AWS backend services and cloud deployments, ideally including EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and RDS.

• Strong understanding of SOLID principles, clean architecture, design patterns, and backend security.

• Experience with authentication, authorisation, and workflow orchestration.

• Familiarity with caching, service discovery, API gateways, load balancing, and reliability patterns such as retries and circuit breakers.

Nice to Have

• Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) or hexagonal architecture.

• Experience in performance optimisation and designing highly scalable systems.

• Familiarity with Redis, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM, and AWS Secrets Manager.
